Vaccines are of different types, Each vaccine is designed to protect your immune system to fight against certain kinds of germs and the serious diseases which causes. Scientists creates vaccines, they mainly consider how the immune system responds to the germ and who need to get vaccinated against the germs. There are 4 main types of vaccines.
Live-attenuated vaccines use a weakened or attenuated form of the germ which causes a disease. This vaccines create a strong and long-lasting immune response in 1 or 2 doses of most live vaccines can give you a lifetime of protection against a germ and the disease it causes. Live vaccines are used to prevent against Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR combined vaccine), Rotavirus, Smallpox, Chickenpox, Yellow fever. Inactivated vaccines used to killed version of germ that causes a disease. Inactivated vaccines don’t provide immunity protection that as strong as Live vaccines. It needs several doses in order to get ongoing immunity against diseases. Inactivated vaccines are preventing against Hepatitis A, Flu, Polio and Rabies. The Subunit, Recombinant, Polysaccharide and Conjugate are use only specific pieces of the germ, which gives a very strong immune response that’s targeted to key parts of the germ. This vaccines are used to prevent against Hib ( Haemophilus influenza type b) disease, Hepatitis B, HPV (Human papillomavirus), Whooping cough, Pneumococcal disease, Meningococcal disease, Shingles. Toxoid vaccines use to prevent a toxin made by the germ causes a disease. Which create immunity to the parts of the germ that cause a disease instead of the germ itself. That means the immune response is targeted to the harmful product instead of the whole germ. Toxoid vaccines are used to prevent against Diptheria, Tetanus.
